After many, many years, I am back to painting again. The first few were not too bad, but they have been getting better and I am almost back to where I was when I stopped painting. I stopped painting shortly after my first wife left me, just didn't have the time nor inclination (although I did a few paintings during that time period). Then life itself became too busy just trying to earn a living, I had problems with my pancreas for over two years and was living on pain meds, had to take several part time jobs, etc.

I became pastor of Bristol Baptist Church just over ten years ago, and on occasion I would find time to do a painting or two, but not much else.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 base of tongue cancer. Had surgery, chemo, radiation, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, oral surgery, etc. I took me a long time to start feeling well again. During this time I started doing more photography and was really enjoying the camera, but something was still missing, that of painting!

Painting was my first true love! And now I am glad to say I am making the time almost every day to paint, even if it is just for a few minutes.
